Javanese cuisine is the cuisine of Javanese people, a major ethnic group in Indonesia, more precisely the province of Central Java, Yogyakarta, and East Java. When I visited Central Java last time, I did some culinary. So, here I want to share the best Javanese cuisine I have had during the trip.
1. Soto Kudus (Kudus)
Kudus is a regency in Central Java, located 51km to the east of Semarang. If you are on a trip to Jogjakarta, you can stop in Kudus first to eat the best Soto! Kudus is popular with its Soto. You can get Soto Kudus like in everywhere in Indonesia. In Jakarta, you can see numerous Soto Kudus restaurants. But you have to taste the authentic taste in Kudus, right?
Based on my trip last time, ‘Soto Ayam Asli Kudus Pak Denuh’ is really a tasty one! Address: Jl. AKBP Agil Kusumadya, Kudus.
2. Es Dawet Telasih (Solo)
Solo is the short name of Surakarta. It is one of the major city in Central Java and the birthplace of our beloved President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo. If you are looking for the best ‘Es Dawet’, you have to come to Solo to taste the authentic one. The popular Es Dawet in Solo is ‘Es Dawet Telasih Bu Dermi’. It is in the traditional market in Solo, called Pasar Gede. It only costs you Rp8.000/bowl.
3. Serabi Notosuman (Solo)
Besides Es Dawet, there’s Serabi Notosuman which is very popular in Solo and not to be missed. You can choose whether chocolate or original taste. Both are tasty! You can stop at Serabi Notosuman Ny. Lidia. Address: Jl. Mohammad Yamin No. 28, Surakarta.
It’s my recommendation cuisine/snacks in Central Java. How about yours? 🙂
